How to cook green radish

  1. Dice the green radish into small pieces according to your preference. The one in the picture is how my husband cut it. I would cut it a little smaller myself because smaller pieces are easier to absorb the seasoning, and larger pieces retain more of the original flavor of the radish.
  1. Add meat to a hot oil pan and stir-fry until it changes color. You can use a little more oil than when frying other vegetables, as radish likes oil. Add dried chili peppers and chopped green onions. If you don’t like spicy food, you can leave out the chili peppers, it will still taste just as good.
  1. After the aroma comes out, add a spoonful of soybean paste. If you don’t have soybean paste at home, you can leave it out. After the radish is cooked, add a spoonful of light soy sauce. Soybean paste will make it more fragrant, and light soy sauce will make the taste fresher. Both are delicious.
  1. Pour in the diced radish and stir-fry. Because there is sauce, don’t use too high a heat to prevent the pot from getting burnt. If the pot is dry, add a little water. Because there is sauce, there is no need to add salt. You can adjust it according to your personal taste.
  1. When the radish is half cooked, add water and a large clove of star anise, cover the pot and simmer for a while until the water covers the radish.
  1. When the water is gone, turn off the heat and serve. Enjoy the delicious dish!
