How to make Mongolian soft fruit strips
- Add sugar to the yogurt and melt the sugar. Mix the other ingredients in a basin. Add the yogurt slowly depending on the absorbency of the flour. This dough does not require water! Stir it up with chopsticks (I forgot to take a photo and will add it later) and knead evenly, cover it and let it rest for half an hour. This is a semi-risen dough with moderate hardness and softness, otherwise the texture will not be soft.
- You can grease or flour the chopping board to prevent it from sticking! Roll it out to about a centimeter thick! Cut into finger-wide strips, or cut into small rectangular pieces, scrape a knife in the middle and stuff the dough through.
- After everything is done, heat the oil. When the oil temperature is 50% hot, start frying the fruits. Fry slowly over low heat, turning frequently. This is all fried, in one pot! I don’t like food that is too sweet and I think this sweetness is just right. It’s my habit to eat freshly cooked food🤣
- The finished product is a big eight-inch bowl!
